If you are a person that enjoys eating healthy or wants to start, this blog is right for you! I love to eat healthy and try to each and everyday. Food can be a challenging thing but once you start eating clean you will feel the difference. Today I will be breaking down some of my favorite foods and snacks that help me stay lean.
Why is it important to eat healthy?
There are so many reasons why eating healthy helps with your daily lifestyle. By eating healthy you will have more energy, your skin will look flawless and your immune system will be stronger. Not only will eating healthy help aid with weight management it also prevents you from getting sick as often. As you all know I love to eat and I eat clean 6 days out of the week. Dan and I don’t like to eat out during the week but usually pick one day to cheat a little. Eating healthy can be hard to do and requires discipline so one day a week we reward ourselves.
What are the best food to eat?
When I go grocery shopping I make sure to stock up on lots of veggies, protein, good carbs, healthy snacks and fats. Sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinoa pasta, Ezekiel Tortillas, black beans, berries and oatmeal are great carbohydrates. We also like to eat lots of egg whites, white fish, chicken and ground turkey which are great choices for proteins. I’m not a huge red meat fan, but once in a while ill have a lean burger.
Greens are also really good to have. As for greens, I usually eat veggies with all my meals. Sometimes, if I don’t feel like eating veggies I try to disguise the taste by adding hummus to take away the flavor, and still get the nutrients. A good example is dipping broccoli in white bean hummus. It’s delicious! My favorite veggies are broccoli, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts and green peppers.
Good Fats are super important especially when it helps reduce the bad cravings of carbohydrates. Almond butter, peanut butter, yolk and Avcodo are examples of great sources of fat. I like to buy all natural ingredients that have no added sugars or salt. I try to keep my food sources natural as I can and eliminate unnecessary added sugars and salt. I do this by reading all the ingredients on all my items to make sure their no added sugars or salt that might be toxic to my body.
What are some good snacks to eat?
One of my favorite snacks that I really enjoy is rice cakes with Almond butter and strawberries. It’s so delicious! Also another favorite is greek yogurt with raw oats, berries and a bit of agva honey. While on the run I turn to Quest bars which are good to have as a meal replacement and helps with my sugar cravings.
I hope you all enjoy this healthy blog talk! Thank you again for stopping by!
