I can’t believe that Halloween is almost here! It is definitely my favorite time of the year. Pumpkin spice muffins, Candy apples and flavored coffee, candy corn, scary movies, and passing out candy are at the top of my list of things that I enjoy doing on Halloween. I also enjoy getting dressed up and going to Halloween parties. So I was pleasantly surprised when Dan and I got invited to our neighbors Halloween party this weekend. This will be a great opportunity to meet new people ( we just moved to Austin, TX in April ) and have fun at the same time. So below I have broken down four fun things that Dan and I will be doing this weekend.
1. Scary Movies: When I was a little girl, my sister and I would watch scary movies, eat lots of junk food and snuggle together during the scary parts of the movie. Since I consider this a very important tradition, I now make Dan watch scary movies with me all night long. Some of our favorite scary movies are “Carrie”, “The Conjuring”, “The Exorcist”, and of course, “Halloween”. That music that they play still scares the wicked out of me!
2. Snacks: I always buy some yummy goodies for us to have the day of Halloween. I like to have a small bowl of candy corn and a large bowl of popcorn. This year I plan to make a festive dish for Halloween and for dessert we will have some pumpkin pie.
3. Passing out candy: I love passing out candy to the children. I always enjoy seeing them in their cute costumes and hearing them say “Trick or Treat”! I’m probably going to buy 4 bags of candy and Dan is planning on putting on a scary mask to scare the kids. We’ll have to see how that goes.
4. Taking Hercules out for a walk: I bought Hercules a cowboy costume last year and he absolutely loves it. He really enjoys his walks and he looks so cute when he is wearing his costume, just like a rough riding cowdog!
