If you are traveling to California this summer; you definitely need to check out Venice beach! It has such a hippie/surfer-dude vibe and the laid back culture radiates from downtown to the Venice boardwalk. The boardwalk has the cutest coffee shops, restaurants and bars; and today I will be sharing all the best that Venice has to offer. To start, I’d like to take you to my favorite coffee shop. Menotti’s Coffee Shop has the greatest view of the boardwalk and their Spanish coffee latte with a hint of cinnamon is “to die for.” The bakery is also amazing! So I highly recommend that you try Menotti’s Coffee shop.
When Dan and I travel, we enjoy doing fun and different activities. On this trip we discovered Social Bicycle. You can download the app on your iPhone. It’s an easy way to rent a bike and save money at the same time. You can rent a bicycle and when you are finished, it will tell you where you can park your bike. Dan, my cousin and I rode around Venice and ended up in Santa Monica. It was the best way to get around Venice and the cost was awesome. We rode around for an hour and we only paid $5.00.
Now if you are looking for a cool spot to eat and shop, you definitely need to stop at Abbot Kinney. I really love this street. It has the most unique restaurants and trending shops. It’s also a great place to take pictures. Whether you are a tourist or a blogger like me; you will enjoy taking photos here. The Butcher’s Daughter is a famous restaurant with white-washed walls and earthy plants scattered all around the restaurant. When you walk in, you feel like you are in a plant nursery. It’s such a fun place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. My cousin and I stopped in for coffee; but I wish that we had stayed for lunch. The next time that I’m back in California, I’m definitely going to eat at Butcher’s Daughter.
Now you all know how I love to eat healthy and Kreation Kafe is just the place to eat healthy. It has such a go green vibe. All of their food is organic, cage free, vegan and fresh.I ordered the Omega Bowl which has egg whites, quinoa, avocado, tomatoes and spinach. It was so delicious! If you are hitting the boardwalk, Larry’s is a great spot to grab food and cocktails. You are close to the beach and there is a variety of bars all around the area. However, if you are in the mood for a romantic walk, then you need to go to the Canals. The Canals has the cutest houses and the best view of Venice. Dan and I enjoyed walking down to the canals and seeing all the colorful and unique homes. It is definitely the BEST place to take photos. So if you are headed to sunny California; Venice beach and Abbot Kinney are “must stops” on your travels. You will really love these places! If you have any questions about what to do in California, please leave me a comment and I will gladly answer your questions. Happy Thursday!
