Hello Friends,
Today I will be talking about different things that you can do to stay fit during the holidays. As we all know, Thanksgiving is the best holiday when it comes to yummy food. Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans, corn bread, and pumpkin pie are the foods that are traditionally served during this holiday. However, these foods tend to put on the pounds. What is the best way to stay lean and not gain weight during the holidays? You don’t have to worry; I will tell you exactly what to do to stay lean.
During this week and next week, you have to be very focused on your cardio. Why cardio? Cardio will help you burn fat and keep your metabolism going. Remember, on my previous post, I talked about doing high intensity workouts such as jumping squats, frog jumps, burpers, jumping lunges and mountain climbers. By doing these routines regularly, you will maintain a healthy metabolism and avoid weight gain.
The next important thing to stay focused on is your food intake. Eating every two hours will help your metabolism work faster and help you to stay lean. I know that it’s hard to eat clean; but just remember to eat good carbs, protein and good fats. I have listed a couple of my favorite things that I enjoy eating: sweet potatoes, brown rice, oatmeal, broccoli, hummus low-fat cottage cheese, salmon, chicken, avocado, and almonds.
The last thing that you need to do after you have finished eating your Thanksgiving feast is hit the gym the next day. Lift as heavy as you can so you can burn all that Gobble Gobble out of your tummy. Also incorporate some high intensity intervals in your workout and drink lots of water to get rid of the excess sodium in your body. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving meal with your friends and family. Please remember to be thankful for all the little things in life. Can’t wait to share the next workout post! I promise it will be a good one.
