Hello Friends,
Today I will be sharing with you some of my favorite restaurants in Austin, Texas. Now that we are finally settled in our new home, Dan and I love to go exploring in Austin as much as we can! Every week, Dan and I have our “once a week date night”; and since Dan knows that I love food a lot, we have been trying all different kinds of restaurants. Believe me when I say that I haven’t been disappointed in any of the food that Austin has offered. In fact, I have been very impressed!
Cenote is a restaurant with a coffee house vibe on the inside and a jungle atmosphere on the outside with very bright and colorful picnic tables. It’s a great place to meet up with girlfriends for breakfast. Their cappuccino is so delicious that you will want to order the larger cup. I had the midges for breakfast. It has eggs, cheese, avocado, tortilla chips and salsa. It is so delicious you won’t be disappointed. Dan ordered pancakes with apple topping. It tasted like a yummy apple cobbler. He had the biggest smile on his face while he was eating it.
If you are running a little late for breakfast; how about trying the Josephine House for brunch or lunch! The inside of this restaurant reminds me of a beautiful little cottage and the food is excellent. This place has me coming back for more. You can sip a nice cocktail outside on the patio while enjoying the setting. As for a nice cocktail, I highly recommend trying the “Paloma”; that is if you like a fruity drink. As for food, I had the “Josephine Rice Bowl.” It is a healthy meal that contains heirloom rice, egg, vegetables, avocado, arugula, and salsa verde.
Now if you are in the mood for a nice juicy burger, I would try the Hopdoddy Burger Bar. You might have to wait in line but it’s worth the wait! I ordered the “Thunderbird” burger. This yummy burger had avocado and apple-smoked bacon in it and it had to be one of the most incredible burgers that I have ever had. Also, don’t forget to try their Truffle fries. They sprinkle a bit of cheese on them and they just melt in your mouth! As for a cocktail, the Doble Fina Margarita is the perfect drink to have with your burger.
Now if you’re not in the mood for burgers, Bangers is well known for their beer garden and yummy homemade sausage. They have a 104 beer selection on draft that you can ask for a sample. I really don’t ever eat hot dogs but I was excited to order a chicken hot dog called the “Drunk Chicken.” As for a side order, I got the homemade mac and cheese. Holy Moly, the mac and cheese was utterly awesome! I can hardly wait to go back for their excellent food and service.
I hope that you all get a chance to visit one or all of these restaurants. Is there any places that you recommend that I should try? Till next time my friends. Not sure what place I will go next; but I promise it will be a good one!
