Today, I am dedicating this blog to all my single peeps! Did you ever think that dating would be so hard to do? Lately my friends have mentioned that meeting someone can be difficult and dating isn’t fun anymore. Whatever happened to the innocent days of sitting in a booth, eating ice cream and talking about silly things. Unfortunately those days are long gone and dating apps are taking over. Now some people may think that chatting online with a stranger is a safe and effective way to meet Mr. or Ms. Right; and for some people it may work out all right. However, I think that the personal connection that one makes when talking face-to-face with someone is an important ingredient in establishing a relationship and making it work.
Dan and I met at a night club and when I tell people our story; they think that it is amazing that I met my soul mate at a club. When I interviewed a few of my close friends to get some ideas on where to meet potential dates; they had some interesting ideas. One idea was a Dog Park. Having a dog helps you to interact with another human being seeing that you have something in common…your dogs! Active places like gyms, hiking trails or ice rinks are great places to start up a conversation. And believe it or not, Whole Foods is another people meeting place. You can start a conversation by saying something silly like,”Have you tried these organic eggplants?” Finally, another good way to meet someone is through friends. Introducing your single friends at a barbecue, birthday celebration or any other neutral event is a way to have singles meet in a relaxed atmosphere. In closing, I just want to say that there is a Mr. and Mrs.Right out there for each and every one one of you. I’m just throwing this out there; if you have any other suggestions for great places to meet someone special, please share your thoughts!
