Hello Friends,
Today marks 5 wonderful years of marriage for Dan and I! I am so lucky to have met such a wonderful man that i fell in love with 10 years ago. When Dan and I first met, I knew we had something special; but when we gave each other our first hug, I knew he was the one.It just felt right. Dan and I met in a club in California. It is kind of hard to find a good man in a club; but I was so lucky to have found a good one. lol So ladies, there is still hope that you can meet a good man in a club.
Today I am excited to share some tips that keep Dan’s and my marriage alive. My love for him is stronger right now than it has ever been. My affection for him continues to grow each day as I watch him live his life. With that in mind, I thought that I would share with you 4 reasons that I think keeps our marriage stronger than ever.
1. Loyalty: Dan is a RIDE OR DIE. That means that he will fight for me until the end. Never once have I questioned his loyalty to me. He makes me feel like I am the only girl in the world. Again, I credit his parents for raising their children to give themselves to only one person. Dan is dedicated and I love that about him.
2. Balance: In our marriage, balance is very important. We both have full time jobs and sometimes we can get a bit wrapped up with work. We both have learned that work stays at work and once we are home it’s all about each other. Whether we plan a dinner or movie night out or watch a game together, it is important to spend quality time together.
3. Trips: Dan and I love to take little trips every three months. We both love to travel, so doing this makes our marriage very strong. Finding something that you both love to do is very important. When we go on a trip, I feel like it’s our honeymoon all over again. I love that we do fun activities together; even though I hate waking early to do them. So sharing places that you both enjoy going to adds interest to a marriage.
4. Communication: Lastly, in our first year of marriage, I realized that communication is very important to the success of a marriage. I bought a calendar and we both wrote down our schedules for each other. I also bought a chuck board and I will leave little notes on there so Dan can see my message. By talking to one another and letting each other know what’s going helps a lot.
I really married Dan mostly because he takes me to the best places to eat! HaHa! He’s always down for anything with me and that’s the side of him I love the best. Since I have the chance, I want to say thank you, Dan, for being a wonderful husband, friend and my rock through hard times. Being able to share our relationship openly with you and having your support has been such a blessing. I love you!
